Protection of Personal Information

KINUITO Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) recognizes the importance of protecting customer personal information and complies with laws concerning personal information protection (hereinafter referred to as “Personal Information Protection Act”), and strives for appropriate handling and protection in accordance with the following Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as “this Policy”).

1. Definition of Personal Information

In this Policy, personal information means personal information as defined in Article 2, Paragraph 1 of the Personal Information Protection Act, that is, information about living individuals that can identify specific individuals through name, date of birth, and other descriptions contained in such information (including information that can be easily collated with other information to identify specific individuals), or information containing personal identification codes.

2. Purpose of Personal Information Use

The Company will use personal information obtained from customers for the following purposes:

  • Providing information about Company products/services and responding to inquiries
  • Providing Company products/services and fulfilling contracts
  • Improving quality of Company products/services and developing new products/services
  • Marketing activities and survey research regarding Company products/services
  • Campaign and event planning/operation
  • Business negotiations with clients and contract conclusion/performance
  • Conducting recruitment selection and HR/labor management after hiring
  • Providing information to shareholders and operating shareholders’ meetings
  • Fulfilling obligations based on laws and regulations
  • Other purposes incidental to the above purposes of use

3. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

The Company will not provide personal information to third parties without customer consent, except in the following cases:

  • When based on laws and regulations
  • When necessary for protecting life, body, or property and obtaining consent is difficult
  • When particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting sound child development and obtaining consent is difficult
  • When cooperation is necessary for national agencies, local governments, or those commissioned by them to perform affairs prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining consent would interfere with performing such affairs
  • When customer consent has been obtained in advance

4. Joint Use of Personal Information

The Company may jointly use personal information as follows:

  • Items of jointly used personal information: Name, address, phone number, email address, and other information contained in inquiry content
  • Scope of joint users: Company group companies (domestic and overseas subsidiaries and affiliates)
  • Purpose of use by joint users: Same purposes as stated in “2. Purpose of Personal Information Use” above
  • Party responsible for management of personal information: KINUITO Co., Ltd.

5. Outsourcing of Personal Information

The Company may outsource handling of personal information to external parties within the scope necessary to achieve purposes of use. In such cases, we select contractors recognized as handling personal information appropriately, require appropriate management of personal information in outsourcing contracts, and conduct appropriate supervision.

6. Security Management Measures for Personal Information

The Company takes necessary and appropriate measures for security management of personal information to prevent leakage, loss, or damage. Specifically, we implement the following measures:

  • Establishing internal regulations concerning personal information protection
  • Limiting employees handling personal information and implementing education/training
  • Access control to personal information and recording/monitoring access logs
  • Security measures for information systems handling personal information (firewalls, encryption, etc.)
  • Physical security management measures (entry/exit management, locked document storage, etc.)

7. Disclosure, Correction, Suspension of Use, etc. of Personal Information

Customers may request disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, erasure, or suspension of third-party provision regarding their personal information held by the Company. For request methods and procedures, please contact the inquiry desk below.

Note that we may request documents for identity verification regarding disclosure requests. Also, there may be cases where we cannot respond to disclosure requests based on laws and regulations, so please understand in advance.

8. Use of Cookies

The Company website may use cookies and similar technologies to provide better services to customers. Through these technologies, the Company can understand the number of customer website visits, visited pages, etc.

Customers can refuse to accept cookies or display warning alerts when receiving cookies through browser settings. However, disabling cookies may prevent some functions of the Company website from being available.

9. Use of Access Analysis Tools

The Company may change this Policy in response to legal changes, changes in social conditions, technological advances, etc. The revised Privacy Policy will take effect from the time it is posted on the Company website. For significant changes, we will provide clear notice on the website.

13. Certified Personal Information Protection Organization

The Company has received certification from the Japan Institute for Promotion of Digital Economy and Community (JIPDEC) for its “PrivacyMark” personal information protection certification system.
